If you’re a fan of Hong Kong cinema’s gritty undercover crime dramas, Tai Kwun’s latest exhibition Undercover Underworld is a must-visit. Running from August 1 to October 5, this immersive showcase brings to life some of the city’s most iconic undercover stories through interactive installations, film memorabilia, and rare behind-the-scenes footage.

Co-curated by film director Sunny Chan Wing San and scholar Kristof Van den Troost, the exhibition explores Hong Kong's undercover agent films—from early New Wave classic Man on the Brink to blockbusters like City on Fire, Infernal Affairs, and Hard Boiled.

The exhibition also features exclusive interviews with celebrated filmmakers like Louis Koo and Tsui Hark, as well as real-life undercover agents and psychologists. And if you want to extend the experience, Tai Kwun is hosting free screenings of legendary undercover films in early October.
