Background
Film Stylo was developed by Babel Film Workshop founder Jeremy Hung at Yale University and child psychiatrist Dr. Eunice Yuen at the Yale School of Medicine, with support from the Yale-China Association and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York.
During Covid-19, Jeremy and Dr. Yuen co-authored a research study on Film Stylo’s positive effects on adolescent mental health, finding it offers a novel intervention in fostering emotional wellness and empathy in both student filmmakers and audience members, with significant implications for families and school communities. The study has been presented to mental health professionals at the American Association of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
