Currently a Year 8 student at Renaissance College, Ema’s project about Hong Kong corals has been selected for the 2021 Kids4Kids Action for a Cause program.

The program’s aim is to “empower youth teams to realize community project ideas by providing seed funding and mentor guidance.”

For Ema, this project is a short documentary film called The Living Sea that aims to raise awareness about the need to take care of corals in Hong Kong. Babel Film Workshop’s Jeremy Hung will serve as her mentor.

Ema is currently in early stages of creating her film, with the aim to interview experts and shoot underwater footage over the next few months. The project is set to complete in June, and will be screened at various school communities.

To create this film, Ema is seeking additional crew members to help with filming and editing tasks. If you have some past filmmaking experience or would like to learn more about this opportunity, please email us and provide the following details:

  • Your name and age

  • Current school

  • Past filmmaking experience, if any

  • Parent name, email, and phone number

We’re excited for any student collaborations to help make this film into a reality!
