Fresh Perspective Drives Engagement with The Mistral's Pizza Pasta Bowl Launch

Recently, one of our student filmmakers worked with The Mistral to create a promotional reel that took an unconventional approach to showcasing new offering.
About the Client
The Mistral, the signature Italian restaurant at InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, is known for its refined approach to Italian cuisine. When introducing their new pizza pasta bowl—the first of its kind in Hong Kong—they needed creative content that would capture attention.
The Challenge
The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong needed to:
Generate buzz around their unique pizza pasta bowl offering
Create content that felt playful, not traditional or predictable
Showcase their chef's personality and fun energy
Stand out in Hong Kong's competitive F&B landscape
The Solution: Point-of-View Storytelling
Rather than traditional beauty shots or standard chef interviews, we developed a unique point-of-view concept that literally put viewers in the dish's perspective.
Rachell, a student creator who previously worked as cinematographer on our Short Film Lab production "A Piece of Cake," brought this vision to life. The concept centered on an immersive POV experience where the camera becomes the pizza pasta bowl itself. Viewers watch through the "eyes" of the dish as the chef flours the camera lens, pours pasta directly onto it, and layers ingredients from the bowl's perspective.
This playful approach created anticipation and engagement, encouraging viewers to watch until the end while experiencing the chef's personality throughout the preparation process.
