A mother's strict control over a young violinist in an attempt to help her succeed pushes their fraught relationship to the breaking point. The well-intentioned mother treads on the thin line of pushing her daughter to unrealistic perfectionism and emotional abuse. The film sets out to explore the duality of mother-daughter relationships and the dichotomy parents face.
